Working one-on-one with a single student each semester, I mentor students through the creation of a 15-page literature review project in order to fulfill their Molecular and Cell Biology major requirements for writing-intensive electives and/or the requirements for earning honors in the major. Student choose their own topic, with guidance from me. Together we select appropriate primary and secondary sources, and the student generates an annotated bibliography in order to prepare their first draft. I provide feedback in meetings and via written comments on multiple drafts. We often solicit  and incorporate feedback from other faculty members.
