About

Hello!
While my graduate training in neuroscience focused on inflammation in Parkinson’s disease, I now have the opportunity to think about how brains work in the classroom. I teach a large introductory course where it is my pleasure to introduce undergraduates of all majors to biology. My efforts to develop this course have focused on increasing active learning practices and giving students more ways to demonstrate that they are engaged with and curious about the course topics. I also have the privilege of working with upper-level students majoring in Molecular and Cell Biology through my writing-intensive electives and clinical research courses. I take a student-centered approach and work to ground my teaching innovations in current education research. Thank you for your interest in my work!
